Me and My Babe

Russell and I started out summer right with our anniversary over Memorial Day Weekend. We have been married for 20 years now! We took a three day trip to Capitol Reef and sent the kids to stay in Idaho with Grandma and Grandpa. I think we hiked 24 miles of trail in those few days. It was so fun.

We still look so young...how can it be 20 years?

We hiked Lower Calf  Creek Falls and had the place to ourselves. One group was leaving and took our picture and then no one else came while we were there. So for a busy memorial day weekend we planned it just right.

 It was so beautiful.

Dark skies and red rocks. We didn't get rained on. It was such a pretty place. We hiked Sulphur Creek, Upper and Lower Calf Creek, Zebra Slot Canyon, Hickman Bridge and a couple of others. We also took a four-wheel drive road out in the back country of Capitol Reef. The perfect anniversary trip.

We have been having fun this summer hiking some other new trails together. We hiked up to Provo Peak one Saturday. It was only a mile and a half but that mile and a half was straight up! It took us a little over two hours to get to the top!

Here I am, hiking up, up, up!

The views from the top were amazing.

My cute hiking partner. It was pretty cold up there.

We found a patch of snow coming down.

We also hiked with our hiking friends to the saddle of Cascade Mountain. It was a 12 mile, 9 hour, unrelenting, super hot hike. The 6 mile uphill never quit and the 6 mile down hill was so steep you were slipping and sliding all the way down. This was not one of my favorite hikes. But the company was outstanding and I can say I did it.

The View!

I love spending my life with this guy!
