Make Over

Jack had a make over today.  He went from a long hair boy....

To a short hair boy!

Eliza came with me to get his hair cut this morning and as the girl was cutting off all of his blond hair I told Eliza I was about ready to cry.  And she just looked at me like I was crazy.  But I love Jack's long, white hair so it was hard on me.  But the kid is so sweaty this summer he needed a shorter do.  Even with the short hair he is still a handsome little devil!

Liston Reunion

It is always fun to have a Liston Reunion. Even if we all live next door to each other, we always seem to have a fun summer get away.  This year we went to Panguitch, Utah to honor a great great great great Grandpa of my mother in laws. But first we had to play at Panguitch Lake.

That meant throwing knives.  Which turned out to be the kid's favorite activity.

 Shooting with bows and arrows.  Jack and Aiden were both excellent shots.  Jack goes to Grandpa Liston's house often to practice shooting.  He loves being with his Grandpa.

 Hanging out at camp.  Eliza and Paige spent a lot of time coloring in the trailer and collecting rocks.

 Swimming in the creek.  It was not warm enough in my opinion for such a thing, but that didn't stop Aiden and Kyler.  What does stop them?  I haven't figured that out yet.

So that is what we did before we went to town.  Then we headed in to Panguitch for some festivities. Friday night we had a dutch oven dinner and watched a play about 7 men who walked across the mountain from Panguitch to Parawon (is that how you spell it?) in the middle of the winter to bring back food for their community.  They did this by placing on quilt in front of the other and walking on those quilts to keep from sinking in the deep snow.  Jesse Louder was the leader of the group and he is our relative.

They have a little monument set up to the quilt walkers and here is Aiden on Jesse Louder's bench.

Then we participated in a quilt walking race down the main street of Panguitch.  Here are Russell and Aiden getting ready to start.

We saw a tractor parade and went to a tractor pull.  And we all agreed we never need to go and see another tractor pull, not that exciting!
We had a fun time learning about one of our ancestors and being with our Grandparents and cousins!

Two Wheels

Jack is cruising a two wheeler. We took his training wheels off last week and he was riding. Jack did so good, Russell didn't have to run behind him for very long like the other kids. He just knew what to do and did it. 

The day he got his training wheels off he asked Russell when he was going to build him a jump!

Goblins...again

We headed down to Goblin Valley on Friday for a quick over night romp on the hoodoos. It was hot, around 95 degrees. But that didn't stop us from having an awesome time.

Those two figures on the top of the mountain were Kyler and Aiden.  They were little mountain goats, as always.

This was the only other picture I got of Aiden and Kyler, they were too busy to stop for photos.

And here I am about to hike up Little Wild Horse Canyon (we went there after the Goblins). I had to put this picture in because I am wearing the neck cooler that my Aunt Cindy made. She made on for all of the family that went to Arches this spring.  It was so nice to have wrapped around our necks on the blistering hike.  Thanks Cindy!

I think I will take my Goblins when it is a little cooler, but it was still a fun, exciting get away!
