Draper Temple

This morning we woke up bright and early, we got dressed in our church cloths, skipped Saturday morning cartoons and drove up to the Draper Temple Open House. The four of us (we left Jack home with Grandma Liston, we didn't think he would enjoy it) got to the church where we were to park and watch a video about the temple at 9am. Eliza saw the big travel buses and was so excited. She said,"I've never been on a bus before!" After the video we took the exciting bus ride to the temple(Eliza said,"this is like a roller coaster ride). The temple was gorgeous. The colors they choose were of course beautiful. It was so fun to take the kids into the temple with us. They loved the Celestial room with it's enormous chandelier and the sealing room with the mirrors that look on forever. We saw the bride's room and I told Eliza that this is where she will be able to get ready to be married someday. Aiden said, "What about the boys?" and Russell said, "We get the locker room." :) It was really neat. I am so glad that we got tickets to attend. After the tour we went into the church that was next door for a cookie and water. Then back on the bus to our car. They had everything so well organized. Everybody who can should take the opportunity to go! In my opinion it was better than Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cartoons, but don't ask Aiden, I have a feeling that we might have different opinions!

Drink Any One?

Jack loves the toilet. He found an open door and an opportunity. Look at that smile- he knows he's been caught. How can you be mad at that?

New Year - New Look

I have been thinking about cutting my hair for awhile now. It didn't really have a style. So last night I went for it. Maybe I went a little too far.

And here is the back! It is very short. The girl asked my if I would like an "A line" and I thought that sounded like fun. But today I am thinking it might be too short. It is new and different-just like I wanted. Aiden told me this morning he didn't like it and he wanted my old hair back. Hmmm.

I am just nervous about trying to do it myself tomorrow! I wish that I knew how to do hair better-mine and Eliza's. Maybe that will be my New Year's resolution. Anywho here is to a fun new look!

Birthday Girl!

Eliza turned four years old today! I can't believe she is getting so big. She said today, "I will never be three again." When she put it that way it made me sad. But so far we have had a great day with our birthday girl.

Russell made her heart shaped pancakes with a candle this morning for breakfast. Here she is making a wish. And yes that is chocolate syrup on the pancake-we are very healthy at our house.

I think she took three bites. But she was happy.

Aunt Becky made her this Cinderalla birthday cake. It was perfect and Eliza loved it. Next to the cake is her pony pinata. She was way excited about it.

Here is a closer look at the Cinderella cake. Didn't Becky do a great job? I stuck four candles in her dress and Aiden thought it was hillarious that her dress was on fire.

She had a birthday party this morning with 9 of her friends. It was fun and wild. Here are the kids scrambling for candy after the pinata was smashed. We played a lot of fun games, opened presents, had heart shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, cake and ran around like crazy. Eliza has been playing with her toys all afternoon and while Jack was taking a nap she requested that Russell and I watch Nacho Libre with her. I was laughing at one part and she said "this isn't funny-it's exciting!" Speaking of Nacho- Uncle Layne made her a Nacho Libre soundtrack on cd and she has listened to it twice already. Thanks Layne!

She has been talking about her birthday for six months now and I am glad that she is happy.
