Advanced Skill

Jack has learned how to climb (as seen on an earlier post), now he has learned how to climb onto the table!

This is how I found him on Sunday morning. He must have been feeling left out of the Pokemon battle.

He has been after Aiden's Pokemon cards for months. He must have seen his opportunity and went for it. I love to see Jack gain new skills, but now I have gained a new worry!

Zoo Crew

Russell called home today at 4pm and said get the kids in the car I'll be home in a minute-let's go to the zoo! The zoo doors close at 5pm. I wasn't sure if we would make it, but I thought okay let's do it. So we rounded up the kids-plus our two fun cousins Kyler and Paige and jumped in the car. We got to the zoo at 5:20pm-I ran up to the gates as they were closing everything and said that we had just gotten there from Orem and that we had a pass and would they please let us in-and the nice man said okay! So we got to party at the zoo until 7pm (even though they said the grounds close at 6:30 nobody kicked us out) and it was awesome because there was hardly anybody there and the weather was perfect!

I am glad that the tiger was asleep! I would not want to be around when he lifts his tail!

Jack loved the zoo! He loved looking at the animals and running wild. I am glad that it wasn't crowed at all so he could. He was funny. And his new little flip flops are funny, too!

Okay one more try with the posing for a picture. This one turned out pretty good. I like the boys with their arm around their sister. I wish Eliza's eyes were open, but that's alright because they did all stand still for half a second. :)

When we were leaving Russell was getting a picture of us all by the fountain and a man stopped and asked if he wanted to get in-what a nice man. So we got a group shot. I told Russell in the car, what if this was our family-two sets of twins and a baby! We do love that we have "twin cousins" that live right around the corner from us and that we get to play and have fun with them all of the time. It was a great evening at the zoo.

Beautiful Spring Day

Yesterday was the perfect day. The weather was so nice and it felt so great to be outside. The sandbox was just asking for the kids to come and play and so they did. I'm not sure if I will be able to keep Jack out of it this summer. He loved being in the dirt. I'll just have to plant my lawn chair on the grass and enjoy it. That doesn't sound too hard.

Russell worked outside for about four hours taking down Christmas lights, pruning trees and cleaning out flower beds-I helped a little. Days like yesterday make me happy. Being out in the sun after a long winter, watching the kids pull out all of the sand toys, just being together without the pressure of having someplace to be or something to get done. It was nice. And an added perk was going out on a double date last night with my sister Megan and her husband Kenny. We went to dinner and then dragged Russell and Kenny to see Bride Wars. (Although, Russell laughed quite a bit so I don't know if I really dragged him or not!) Thanks Jean and Jane, my wonderful aunts, for babysitting. I am looking forward to more glorious spring days!

Weekend Get Away

We went to Mesquite, Nevada over the weekend to visit our great friends Steve and Lori. They were nice enough to let us crash at there house and play with them all weekend. It was a lot of fun. On Saturday we went to :

It was about an hour south of Mesquite and it was so much fun to run around in the sun and climb rocks.

Here are some of the petroglyphs we saw in the canyon. If you can see the one with the eyes and the weird bat wings they called it mystic bat woman at the front of the trail. Kind of crazy.

Aiden ruined his shoes on the hike. Too many rocks to explore. So today we are off to Target to buy more. The joys of having a rough and tumble boy!

Here are Aiden and Eliza underneath one of the petroglyphs. They are recreating the scene by holding hands. We had such a fun time. It was nice to be with friends just hanging out and playing. On the way home Russell said that we need to do something like that every month. And I agree. Next month-Moab! :)

He is so proud of himself.
