Beach Day-Corona Del Mar

One of our favorite parts of our vacation was going to the beach. We went to the best beach, Corona Del Mar near Newport. It was so pretty, so clean and so much fun! We spent all day Monday and half a day on Friday there. I want to live there. :)

Jack loved the dirt, not the water. He was a little nervous around the waves. But he sure was a digger!

On Monday we were there during low tide and Aiden loved exploring the tide pools. We found a bunch of hermit crabs, and regular crabs. There were also seals near our beach, we could hear them barking and watch them swim so that was cool.

Here is Aiden after a roll in the sand. He would roll around get sandy and then run back into the ocean. He really loved it.

Watch out, here comes a wave!

Like I said....a digger.

Here is my beach babe running in the water. She loved to run away from the waves that came up onto the beach. She is such a cutie.

Never turn your back to the ocean. I freezing little wave hit just as Russell was snapping the picture. I really thought the water would be colder, but it was just great, once you got used to it.

My little surfer.

We rented boogie boards and learned how to catch wave. It was so much fun. I really think I could have been a Southern California beach girl.

Here I am riding a wave into shore. Russell had to help me because I couldn't see when to catch the wave without my glasses or contacts. It might be time for lasik. I'd be all ready and he would say,"Now!" and I would lay and my stomach and go. We made a great team. :)

Paige, Eliza and Grandma playing in the sand.

Aiden making a sand castle with Kyler. Next vacation may just need to be a beach vacation!

Disney Adventure!

We packed up the mini van last week and headed to Southern California for a Disneyland Vacation. Russ's brother Layne and his family, his sister Becky and her family and Grandma Liston all came with us. 17 in all! What a party. We had the best time and it was hard for me to stop posting pictures, so there are quite a few.

Aiden, Eliza, Doopey and a big sucker!

Our family with Minnie Mouse! Jack was nervous.

Here with are with Mickey. Look at Jack's face, he wants out of there!

Aiden and Eliza with the Fairy Godmother. She was really fun to talk too. Really cute with the kids.

Eliza, Paige and me on the Teacups. One of the girl's favorite rides.

Pluto. Eliza loved getting all of the characters to sign her book and to get a picture with them. She was so much fun to watch. Again, Jack wants to run away. :)

Eliza with her Mickey Mouse princess ears. She wanted to pose just like a real Princess, so she is concentrating really hard.

This is Aiden and me in the bone cage from Pirates of the Caribbean. Aiden said he look sad because he was in cage. Great acting!

Waiting in line for the Finding Nemo ride!

Eliza dressed up as Tinker Bell one day. I love the look with the tennis shoes. A girl has to be comfortable. :)

Kyler, Zach, Paige, Aiden and Eliza with Dale. It was awesome having our cousins with us.

Here is Grandma with all the grandkids that came and Donald Duck. I had to hold Jack who didn't care about a photo opp.

We waited in line for about an hour to meet three Princesses. We met Snow White, Cinderella, and Ariel. My pictures didn't turn out the best, so I am hoping Layne did a better job with his camera and I will post some more. The girl's loved it! It was worth the wait.

Here are Eliza and Paige getting Ariel to sign their books. Ariel was so sweet to them and talked to them for quite awhile. Wouldn't it be fun to be a Disney Princess and make little girls happy?!
I have a few more pictures that I liked of Disneyland that I might post later and tons of the beach. So there is more of our adventure to come. We really had such a great time. The kids were so good and the crowds were light we couldn't have asked for more.

Picture Time

We hadn't had a professional picture of the kids since Jack was 4 months old. So, it was time! And after all the stressing about cloths and hair, I think they turned out really cute.

Jack wouldn't put his hands up, but he was at least on his stomach. :)

I really love this one with Jack looking up at his sister and brother. And isn't Eliza's dress so cute?

The smiles aren't quite as big on this one, but still a fun picture.

I had to get this one because of Jack and Eliza
. I am happy with how they all turned out. Next on the list-a family picture!

Aiden

Russell has been doing some work for a second grade teacher at Hillcrest this week and she had a funny story about Aiden. The second grade students were talking about laws and rules and one of the teachers asked the kids to say some laws they knew. One boy said, "Drinking and driving is against the law."
Aiden said, "Well, duh, if you drink and drive you will spill your drink all over yourself!"
I love Aiden's innocence, if only it could stay forever!
