For Spring Break this year we took a tour of Southeastern Utah. We started out in Goblin Valley where we have been many times and then as we journeyed along we saw a lot of places new to us. It was a fun few days.
First day an evening hike through Little Wild Horse Canyon. We had the place to ourselves which was nice.
Eliza and me.
Jack navigating the twisty canyon
Aiden
Tons of holes to climb up in
Jack said he could not remember this hike, and I was thinking about it he was probably four last time we did this one. Time sure does fly!
Amazing
This kids said that this was the best hike we did on the trip.
And you can see why.
We camped like hobos (no campground, water, or toilet) and woke up to explore Goblin Valley in the morning. Eliza was always looking for the perfect chair.
Plenty of goblins to explore.
Aiden and Jack relaxing on the rocks.

We then made our way to Natural Bridges National Monument. We had never been there and it was really cool. We did a hike to a bridge that required us to climb down a couple of ladders.
Russell on a cool set of stairs.
A look out spot for the bridge. We hiked underneath it to really experience it.
Eliza felt pretty cool going past the sign that said turn back. She is a rebel.
Another cool ladder.
The three Liston kids
Aiden ready to head back up the trail.
Me and my babe.
Another night of hobo camping. It was a windy cold night.
We woke back up and decided to hike to another one of the three bridges.
It was really pretty.
We stopped and saw the Goosenecks of the San Juan and had a picnic there.
Then it was off to Monument Valley. I thought this place was pretty cool.
The scenery was gorgeous.
Run, Aiden, Run! Just like Forest Gump.
We drove along that dirt road behind Jack and got a little closer to the monuments that way.
We slept over near Bluff Utah in a campground with water and a pit toilet, so a little step up. The next day we went to Four Corners and got to stand in four different states. Not really worth it. The kids were grumpy and not impressed.
Then we went to Hovenweep. Now that place was worth it.
The Indian Ruins were neat, and the two mile hike around the canyon was perfect.
Nice poses!
Eliza taking in the view.
Jack nestled in with the ruins behind him.
We decided on the last night to get a hotel in Monticello. I think there would have been a revolt if we camped another night. We enjoyed a nice hot shower, dinner out and swimming in the pool that evening.
The next day we headed home. On the way we saw a turn for the Needles Overlook so we took it and it was very impressive.
That was it. A lot of pictures and memories with my kids who sure won't quit growing up!!
