On Friday night we were talking about what we should do for our last Saturday before school starts and Russell had a great idea to go to Kannaraville falls to go hiking. It is a three and a half hour car ride, so seven hours in the car for a hike. But we thought it sounded like and awesome idea so we jumped in the car Saturday morning and made our way down there. We called our good friends the Faldmo's late Friday night and they said they could meet us there, from St George, at 2pm so that made it extra special!
We made a stop at the Freemont Indian State Park on the way down there and it was really neat. I wish we had more time to explore. We saw this cool teepee.
We studied the rock art made by the Indians.
We liked the picture of this little dude with the horns and staff. He reminded us of Max from Where the Wild Things Are.
Then we met up with the Faldmo's at the hike. Here is Aiden, Jack, Tyson and Millie in the blue hat at having fun sliding down some rocks in the creek.
Here is Aiden ready to go.
Steve was awesome climbing up the ladder with a baby monkey Tyson on his back. It is so pretty with the red rock walls and the waterfall coming down.
Here is Jack climbing up.
Then it was mine and Eliza's turn.
Russell and I in front of a little waterfall at the top of the ladder area.
Here I am in the beautiful canyon.

Here goes Chase!
Jack climbing up the rocks to go again.
I even had to take a turn. It was so much fun. On top are Lori, Tyson, Millie, Aiden and Jack.
Aiden showing off his muscles.
And here goes Jack, ready to go over the cliff.
Two cool 8th graders.
We are all lined up ready to climb back down the ladder.
After hiking for about four hours we went to Cedar City and had dinner at a delicious pizza place with the Faldmo's. Then we hopped back in the car and were home around 10:30. We had such a great time and were super excited that Steve and Lori and their family could join us on such short notice. We were all glad we went!
