We woke up early to head out for the peak. It ended up being a 17 mile day so it is a good thing we did! We loved this little rock with flowers growing on top.
A beautiful morning.
Aiden is so handsome.
Loved how Russell caught the early morning mountain reflection.
We wanted in such a pretty picture.
We passed a moose in the lake having her breakfast.
Jack was super impressed.
We found the boys their new home.
Eliza had a little whoopsy daisy and fell in the stream. But she dried out fast.
Everyone else was on the higher switch back. This is what our hike really looked like. Waiting for me. "Come on Mom!"
We made it to the big rock pile at Gunsight pass. Now the hard work, if what we hadn't done was not hard enough, up to the top.
I love this picture... flowers, Jack, Aiden and the peak.
Another awesome picture by Russell
This part of the hike sucks. No trail just walking over a lot of rocks!
Looking over the valley and being blown away by the wind.
We did it. We all made it to the top of Kings Peak!!!
Jack and the sign
Eliza and the sign
Aiden and the sign
They all did such a great job, I loved this hike with my family.
When we finally made it dow from the peak we found the kids asleep in a little patch of grass. They had to wait for their mom again.
This is me trying to hike as fast as I could down the tippy rocks.
Aiden
Just a boy surrounded by wildflowers.
On our way back to camp we saw a boy moose eating his dinner. So that was super cool to see two moose.
We really hiked 17 miles that day and it was sooo hard and we were sooo tired when we got back. I am glad we had a rest day planned before we had to backpack back to the car.
