A Winter Walk

Russell and I decided it would be fun to go for a little winter hike the other day, convincing the kids it would be fun was another matter. We got a lot of complaining and whining about going, but we made them come because we love to make our kids do stuff they don't want to do, and we ended up having the best afternoon.

We went to Big Springs and started walking up the road with our sleds in tow and headed towards the trail.

We found a big snow cave with a little window carved out...here is Aiden looking through the window.

And here is Jack!

We made snow angels in the deep snow.

We posed for a family picture.

Russell had just got a new backpack for his birthday and wanted to test it out. It will be a different feeling this summer when there is 70 pounds in it for the family trip! After we hiked up the trail a ways the kids hopped on their sleds and did a luge run down the mountain. I only have a video of it, but trust me it was cool.

Then it was time for an epic snowball fight. I know that it is going to get even more hard to pull the kids away from what they want to do to spend time with the family, but I also know that when we do play together we always have a great time! So we will keep doing it.
