Lofty Lake

The second night we slept at Lofty Lake.  At 3am I heard thundering hooves out side of the tent, so I woke Russell up and looked out of the tent to see mountain goats in our camp site!  They played around our tent all night and were still there the next morning so the kids got to see them too!

Aiden took this picture.  The goat was right by our tent.

Here is another shot...

In all there were four big mountain goats and three babies! It was worth the hike to experience this! We watched them for a couple of hours and followed them around, finally they wondered over a hill and we didn't follow them anymore.

Here are Aiden and Eliza eating breakfast.

I love going backpacking and camping with Russell because he does all of the cooking! And he is really good at it.

Here is a shot of Russell and Jack  in the "kitchen"

Here is Eliza by the lake.  It wasn't as big as Kamas Lake, but it was still pretty.

 Another picture of the goats!

Aiden and his fishing pole.  No fish were caught at Lofty, which is a good thing since Russell was the only one that would eat the fish.

Hiking out. The lake behind us was Scout Lake and we hiked past it on the way to the car.

 Eliza is so cute.

That little red dot is Jack.  The trail down was quite rocky and steep.  I am glad that we didn't hike up that side.  Over all it was a great adventure.  I can't wait for the next one! :)
