We had to make our annual trek to Ruth Lake. This year we weren't able to go until Labor Day, but the weather was probably the best we've had. So it might just be Labor Day from now on.
We decided to push past our usual camp spot and go up to Jewel Lake to sleep over. It might have been a little far. The kids were complaining pretty good, and they usually don't. Eliza had a pack this year with all of her cloths and sleeping bag! I think we went to far. But it was beautiful.I just can't get over how pretty those Uinta Mountains are. Oh, and my kids are pretty too!
We climbed the cliffs on the side of the lake to look over. We could see the fish swimming in the crystal clear water below.
Jack is a little mountain goat. I love that he has a little Patagonia puff vest. Russell had to buy it for him and it is the coolest. :)
Jack was the only one to catch a fish. A nice tiger trout. He loved holding it on his "leash".

Jack is so cute. I wish I was around him more often. And I think it's fun that you go backpacking every year.
