Redwoods-Spring Break

Eliza has wanted to backpack through the Redwoods for a
couple of years now and we finally made it happen!

We had a 16 hour car ride there and back and a couple of days spent among the Giant Trees

This tree was big enough to drive through! We couldn't because of the car top carrier. Still very cool.

This tree had fallen down and it was soooo big. Russell was taking a walk on it.

This road was so cool with all of the big Redwoods

Eliza and mom

We backpacked about 9 miles to camp on the beach. The scenery was amazing.

Hey Jack and mom. It was so green and lush!

Eliza living her best life.

The trail was perfect.

Russell got his camera out and did some filming. He is so cute.

Fern canyon was awesome.

We came out on the beach and backpacked another mile to our camp. Jack found this cool shell.

Jack said, "This is so cool, I can't believe we are backpacking on the beach!"

Jack was the only brave one to get into the freezing water.

We had fun burying him. Luckily our campground had a hot shower for Jack to get into after the swim and sand.

It was a little chilly along the coast. Russell made us a delicious dinner to warm us up.

Watching the sunset from our camp.

The trees were incredible

Jack loved a good "tree trail"

Beautiful

Ending our backpacking adventure.

We went down to another beach and found tide pools. That was so much fun.

On the way home the Golden Gate Bridge was a 30 minute detour. We had to take it and see it.
We had such a fun time. We missed Aiden, who had to stay back at college at Dixie State.
I hope we get to go back some day!
