Willow Gulch

The next weekend found Russell and I hiking with the Dayton crew to Willow Gulch, Broken Bow Arch area.
It was in Escalante down the Hole in the Rock road 40 miles.
Very remote, which meant we saw very few people.

It was a gorgeous arch.

But I don't know if the death march in 100 degree heat was worth it :)

Until we got to a place where I could cool down!! Everyone was deciding if they should jump or not and I didn't even think twice. I felt so much better after this.

It was gorgeous down in the gulch.

A nice shady spot for lunch.

 Roger always plans great adventures.

We took so many pictures.

We loved hiking in the water.

We were happy that there were no flash floods!

We set up camp for the night. It was the hottest night of camping I have ever had.

After we set up camp we hiked a little further to this awesome waterfall

 I love Russell!

Our expedition group. It was fun to have Natalie with us who married Mckay Dayton! I think we will be on more adventures with her now!

We are so cute.

I love hiking with Jennefer. We have been on a lot of hikes and we are about the same speed.

I caught a crawdad. They were all over in the water there.

We had some obstacles to get through and some deep parts that made it really exciting!

Oh and we caught a frog.

A flash flood jam above me

Natalie has learned to be a great backpacker

Another group shot

Russell brought us umbrellas to help with the heat. I don't know if it really helped.

Both wet and happy

So fun to be out with my babe.

I love a shady resting spot.

 On the jungle tour!

Natalie and Dana

On the way home we stopped at Dance Hall rock since we didn't know if we would ever come down that road this far again.
