Backpacking in Arches

For fall break this year we decided to go backpacking in Arches National Park. It was not the best trip, the trail was terrible and nobody liked the hike out to our camp spot. We were going to stay two nights but cut it down to one.  Some outings are better than others for sure. We did get to see some pretty cool arches and the weather was perfect.

Before we went backpacking we tried a new trail to us, outside of Moab called Jeep Arch.

There it is...does it look like a jeep?

It was a pretty hike.

Jack found a great place to play

Here was the hike out to our backcountry spot.
We had the place to ourselves. Which is not surprising, the trail was a bushwhack through tall weeds and shrubs with sticker weeds.

We made it to our camp spot. A big rock in the backcountry of Arches. Aiden got the worst allergies and took a pill right after this picture and went to bed until 10am the next morning.

 I ripped my pants :(

Our tent is down there somewhere.

After breakfast Aiden and Eliza went back to sleep. So Russell and I took Jack to explore. Teenagers are super fun.

We packed up our stuff a day early and got out of there. We went to Moab for some lunch and then headed back into the park for one more hike.

We went out to Double O Arch

I wanted to make it out to Dark Angel but we didn't so a view is better than nothing.

Double O and the three kids

Thanks Arches, I don't know when we will be back but even when you are not fun, you are.
