Jack turned 7 on December 8th! Wow!! We had a fun birthday party for him after school on Monday.
Here is Jack with his birthday cake before his friends came.
He wanted to go out in the backyard and play tag when everybody got here. Usually on December 8th there would be snow, but not this year no snow and no coats on the kids! They ran around for a while before coming in for the main event.
Russell had a great idea to make race cars and Uncle Layne made it come true. They cut out 16 race cars that the kids decorated and then we raced them down a track that Russell put together.
They had so much fun racing them over and over again. I wasn't even sure we were going to get to the racing because they were having so much fun coloring them. I didn't want to get paint out so we just used crayons and markers and I think it worked out pretty good.
It sure is hard to get 15 monkeys to hold still! but here they all are with their cars.
We had a simple dessert of cookies, capri suns, and high chews. Here is the birthday boy with his gold medal around his neck that everyone got after their awesome car races.
All of his friends spoiled him with wonderful presents. He said, "Everybody got me exactly what I wanted!" Including a cool new backpacking pack from his mom and dad. He is ready to hit the trails next summer!
