Another Day in Yellowstone

So one evening some of the group decided to take a little hike to lost lake. It was dusk and kind of scary in bear country, as we were walking I looked down and saw this:

a bear track right on the trail.

then a few feet away Russell spotted this track complete with claws!! If we weren't nervous before we became nervous after we saw these tracks on the trail we were hiking! We were the only ones on the lonely trail to lost lake so we tried to make a lot of noise to let the bears know we were coming and I am happy to report we did not see one in real life.

The brave hikers, Hallie, Natalie, my mom, Aiden, me and Russell is taking the picture.

Here is Aiden by lost lake. It was so pretty and the reflection of the mountain and the trees in the water was beyond gorgeous. It was so quiet back there and even though we could have been eaten by a grizzly I am glad we took the time to see this pretty lake.

One afternoon we stopped at Pebble Creek to throw some rocks in the water and cool our feet off in the stream. Here is Jack.

My mom and her sister Cindy sitting on the bank, enjoying a beautiful fall day.

 Maelee found some sweet rocks.

Aiden and Jack and my shadow.

Russell kicked back relaxing all cool...

Curtis "glassing" the hillside by our hotel. That was a new term I picked up this trip, looking at the mountain with your spotting scope or binoculars.

Jace checking things out, too.

And here we are Eliza, Aiden, Jack, Russell and I. I have to say I love my family! My little family with Russ and my whole extended family. What a blessing it was to be able to spend three wonderful days in Yellowstone with everyone, laughing, making memories and seeing this beautiful world Heavenly Father has created for us. Here's to next year.

I am so glad you weren't eaten by a grizzly bear. Those paw prints were huge. I hope I can make it next year!
