Goblins

We decided to head south this weekend for some warm sun, red rocks and hiking at Goblin Valley. We got two out of the three...it was cold. They wind was whipping all around but it didn't stop us from having a great time. We swam in the hotel Friday night and then spent Saturday exploring the hoodoos and goblins and even found a cave.

Eliza posing by the rocks. She was quite the climber. Note to self don't bring good pants to Arches next month. Sliding down rock walls is not easy on pants!

Jack loved it. Potty breaks behind rocks, climbing, throwing dirt at strangers, he did it all.

Here is the cousin crew. This is a fun group. They were all happy to get out and stretch their legs and climb from rock to rock.

Hi Eliza! She found a good seat.

Here are Zach and Aiden inside of the cave. I didn't think I would go in because I am quite claustrophobic... but after the initial squeeze to get in the cave itself was quite big and had some light from the top so I managed. We stayed in there for quite a while to get out of the wind.

And for Layne to make us cookies. Yep, we know how to live it up. Fresh baked cookies in a cave. Does life get any better?

We were about to be blown of the hill top, but we are a cute group. I had to pull out the spectacles because dust and contacts do not mix. Maybe lasik is around the corner for this girl.

Eliza, Paige and Jack.

Kyler and Aiden. Aiden had missed Thursday and Friday from school because he was sick. But that didn't stop us from dragging him down to the red rocks. He rallied a bit for Saturday, but you could tell he was feeling his best. He still managed to climb and have fun with Kyler though.
Love trips like this. Even though is wasn't the perfect weather we didn't let it slow us down and we had a great time.

Where did you stay Dana? We've only been to Goblin Valley for a minute on our way home from somewhere and I would like to go again. Thanks

Tiffany, we stayed in Green River. There are quite a few motels there and we camped out at the Motel 8. Clean, fun swimming and cheap. :)
