Home
I went home this weekend. I love going home. When Russell and I first got married we would go up to visit my parents in I.F. and I would cry when it was time to leave. I haven't cried for awhile now, but it is still hard to live far away from my Mom and Dad. I am grateful that I can hop in the car and be to their house in a few hours, but I still wish it was only a few minutes instead of hours.
My mom is so awesome. I can't believe how talented and fun she is. She is such a wonderful cook and she treated us to a lot of it this weekend. She always makes cinnamon rolls for us when we come and she always lets the kids help. I know how hard it is to have helpers in the kitchen and I love that she doesn't mind having them grab a stool and help her (even when Jack helps by dumping a cup of sugar onto her rising pizza dough). My mom makes coming home special every time. She makes sure Russ and I get a date, she has a game night for us, she has a movie that we have to watch or go to, she lets us sleep in, and she of course feeds and feeds us.
This is Jack and his sweet cousin Maelee. We don't get to play with her as much because she lives in I.F. as well, but they got along and had a great time together. They had a beater of frosting in one hand and a sucker in the other. When you are at Grandma's anything goes.
This picture isn't from this weekend (I wish it looked like this instead of the foot of snow we came across in the great white north), but it's good picture. Thanks Mom and Dad for the awesome weekend and for the piano! I love you both very much and thanks for always being there to come home to.

Sounds like the only thing missing was the mint on your pillow at the end of the day. Ya gotta love moms. I am glad you had a fun visit with your family.
The couple of times I talked to mom this weekend, it was hard to understand her because of the crazy, loud, fun noise in the background. It made me wish I was there. That picture with Maelee and Jack is adorable.
Aren't moms the best. so nice that you are fairly close.
sounds like it was a good weekend.
Your mom is so awesome! She always does such fun things for the kids. You're one lucky gal :-)
No matter how old we get, we still need our moms. Looks like you have a GREAT one Dana!
